Redesigning our Vancouver studio brought Kasian’s Resilient Workplace concept to life, creating a space that is adaptable, inclusive, and built for the future. This presented an opportunity to rethink how we live and work, shifting from a place-based mindset to a more people-centric approach.
Informed by our Calgary pilot and years of workplace design experience, we reshaped a studio that encourages collaboration, supports hybrid models, and prioritizes employee well-being.
Aligning leadership on how to manage workflow and culture in a hybrid model required policies and environments that gave employees flexibility and choice, while ensuring Kasian’s business remained resilient and agile. Key to this was the seamless integration of technology to support hybrid collaboration from virtually anywhere.
The new design enhances productivity, collaboration, and social connection by offering a variety of settings that support diverse workstyles and activities. The floor plan is organized into four key zones: focus, collaborative, community, and support. Alternate work points such as the welcome lounge, café, community table, and open team areas give staff choice in how and where they work. Flexible spaces support casual interactions to formal meetings, while solo work is supported through bookable desks and enclosed focus rooms.
The Vancouver Studio is both a functional workplace and a living showroom. The design authentically reflects who we are and how we work, with warmth, flexibility, and a strong sense of belonging
