An anchor for culture in community
Providing a place for the public in Grande Prairie
After rapid economic and population growth the City of Grande Prairie knew that to foster a community that was cohesive and cultured action was needed. The City decided a hub for culture and community was needed.
Engaging with multiple user groups allowed Kasian and Teeple Architects to develop a design that reflected the beauty of Grande Prairie’s expansive skies and prairie landscape and address the needs of user groups. Receiving LEED Silver certification, the library, art gallery and public space are more than just sustainable, they have become a fixture in the community.
We think the building is a benchmark for the city of Grande Prairie and certainly one that will draw people to that site.
