Great design is thought-provoking, inviting, and very much human.

With over 18 years of multi-faceted experience working in Germany, New Zealand, and Canada contributing to a multitude of project types, I am Kasian’s Vancouver local sector lead and senior project leader for airports. I specialize in planning, preliminary and detailed design, coordination and leadership of design teams, and contract administration. My extensive experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and commitment to sustainable design have made me a proven leader in state-of-the-art project delivery methods. This is exemplified in one of my more notable projects: leading Vancouver International Airport’s Pier D expansion.

My Sectors: Healthcare & Transportation.

My Services: Architecture.

We Asked, Martin Nogger Answered:

What inspires you?

“I’m inspired by human connection. My young daughter is one of my current inspirations: seeing her explore the world with no preconceptions has reminded me to reset my expectations and see things with new eyes. Our experiences are important but they can also limit us, so it’s good to try new things and meet the world as a stranger. That’s why travel is so inspiring as well. All your senses get re-engaged in a new environment, and that fresh experience leads to fresh perspectives.”

What does success mean to you?

“You can always boil it down to a feeling you get: a feeling of accomplishment. It can be really small—getting good feedback, overcoming the many little challenges that pop up in a project, or when a plan you made with your teammates pays off. When you deliver something that the client didn’t even think of, that’s very validating as well.  It’s easy to get caught up in the fast pace of a project, so it’s important to enjoy the little victories along the way.”
