When relocating to a new downtown Toronto space, Hootsuite sought a vibrant environment that reflected their work style, social culture, and brand. The team was involved throughout the process, contributing ideas that helped shape a workplace authentic to who they are.
Their Toronto staff wanted a space that fosters collaboration, strengthens connections across functional teams, and brings fresh energy to their daily environment. They also hoped to capture the same sense of “office envy” as their Vancouver headquarters while giving the space a distinctly Toronto identity.
Drawing inspiration from the city’s neighbourhoods, the design introduces colourful, vibrant spaces that reflect how the team experiences and interprets Toronto. Closed focus rooms and phone booths evoke modern downtown living through individualized palettes and finishes that create a sense of home. The Marketplace café anchors the workplace as a social hub, echoing the eclectic spirit of Kensington Market with picnic tables, patio furniture, and a beer tap.
The resulting workplace celebrates Hootsuite’s culture while grounding the office in the localized character of Toronto.
