About The Project
Kasian developed a new workplace and furniture program for Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP’s relocation to six floors in Eighth Avenue Place to mirror the firm’s timeless and elegant image and to replace the obsolete planning model of their previous workplace.
Client meeting rooms are consolidated on a Reception Conference Floor and support groups on a Services Floor. The Reception Conference Floor was planned on the elevator cross-over to allow the reception foyer to be accessed by both elevator lobbies into a waiting area which is akin to an elegant boutique hotel lobby. The Services Floor is efficiently planned to encourage interaction between various work groups and provides access to natural light and dramatic views for a bright dynamic workspace. The remaining Practice Floors are based on a universal office size and consistent internal meeting room size along with shared amenities such as a café and filing area.
The simplified and refined finish palette utilizes highly contrasting materials such as white and charcoal lacquer trimmed in dark bronze set against white statuario veneto marble and black basalt flooring. This palette becomes a strong architectural backdrop for an extensive contemporary art collection. Lighting and furnishings incorporate traditionally inspired pieces with more contemporary designs.
