9th Avenue Parkade wins 2026 Governor General’s Medal in Architecture

We’re proud to celebrate 9th Avenue Parkade – Parkade of the Future as a recipient of the 2026 Governor General’s Medal in Architecture, one of Canada’s highest honours for architectural excellence from The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada RAIC | L’Institut royal d’architecture du Canada IRAC . Commissioned by Calgary Municipal Land Corporation, the project was a collaboration between 5468796 Architecture Inc. Architecture and Kasian that reimagines the conventional parking structure as civic infrastructure capable of evolving with changing mobility, environmental, and community needs.

As a recipient of the Governor General’s Medal in Architecture, RAIC recognized 9th Avenue Parkade – Parkade of the Future for its contribution to a more adaptable urban future.
