I love to approach projects from different perspectives, bring in new twists, think outside the box, and push my clients beyond the realm of what they thought could be possible within their space.

After running my own interior design firm for the past 15 years, I am thrilled to be starting a new adventure with the Kasian Victoria team. As an entrepreneur I’ve taken great pride in producing award-winning work, providing top tier customer service, and taking an out-of-the-box approach to design. I was driven to join Kasian for the collective energy, opportunities, and challenges of a diverse and growing team with extensive experience globally.

I bring a strong background in retail and hospitality to the team and am looking forward to helping us grow in these exciting areas as well as participate in the broader growth being experienced in the Victoria market. I am used to wearing multiple hats, so whether the situation calls for me to be a leader, a doer, or jump into production I am always eager to help wherever I can. I love collaboration and working with people from diverse backgrounds – both of which make me a better designer.

My Sectors: Arts & Culture, Commercial Mixed Use, Education & Research, Healthcare, Industrial, Residential, Senior Living, Transportation, Workplace

We Asked, Tamara Bush Answered:

You’ve won several awards – can you speak to which ones were most impactful?

“Two come to mind – the Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia’s (IDIBC) Award of Excellence for Opus Hotel and the IDIBC Award of Merit for Lot 1 Pasta Bar. The Opus Hotel was a pinnacle project when I was an intermediate designer, it informed the rest of my working career. This boutique hotel, located in Vancouver’s Yaletown, has been named as one of the World’s Top 100 Hotels by Conde Naste Traveller Magazine. The Award of Merit I won for Lot 1 Pasta Bar was especially meaningful as it was one of my first industry awards on my own. We took a pet store space with a dropped T-Bar ceiling in a strip mall and turned it into a modern and dynamic flagship restaurant location.”

What do you like the most about working at Kasian?

“I have always had a deep respect for the quality of work that Kasian produces. I jumped at the opportunity to be part of such a talented team with a firm that is committed to growing in the Victoria and Vancouver Island market and abroad. Coming from a broader, multidisciplinary background, I also like their strong focus on architecture and interior design.”
