Our clients dream big, and we have the privilege of making those dreams come true.

My three decades of international architectural experience have given me a deep design knowledge and business acumen, which I bring to my work as Vice President of Business Development. I specialize in designing for the Commercial, Public, Senior Living, and Healthcare sectors, as well as the service of Master Planning & Urban Design. My more notable projects include the Edmonton Federal Building, South Edmonton Common, Dubai G+50 Residential Tower, Revera McConachie Gardens, Southgate Mall and the Edmonton City Centre revitalization.

As a qualified mediator (Q.Med.), I approach each project ready to truly listen and build consensus, so each stakeholder gets what they need. I truly believe that good design helps enhance people’s lives and I make a conscious effort to bring functional and cultural sensitivity to the projects I work on. Volunteering is a significant part of my life and I am always grateful for the opportunity to pay it forward through community service and mentoring upcoming architects and designers. I have been recently appointed to the Board of Directors at the Universal Design Network of Canada (UDNC), as a RAIC representative. The UDNC focuses on inclusivity and accessibility, working with and educating government bodies, industries, as well as individuals on the importance of Universal Design. In 2024 I was selected as The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Board Chair.

My Sectors: Commercial Mixed-Use, Healthcare & Senior Living.

My Services: Architecture, Master Planning & Urban Design.

We asked, Aziz Bootwala answered:

What do you like most about working at Kasian?

“What I love about what I do is that our clients dream big, and we as architects and designers have the privilege of making those dreams come true. It’s great to complete a project and see that smile on the client’s face. Architecture is not an isolated profession — I love the interdisciplinary work, as well as mentoring our up-and-coming team members.”

What makes a great design?

“It’s not about winning awards, but about meeting the client’s needs and exceeding their expectations. A great design is sustainable, and more importantly, it will leave the world a better place than before me.”
