Set within Calgary’s Plus 15 network linking Jamieson Place, KPMG Tower, Livingston Place, and the Winter Garden, The Courts introduces a new way of thinking about office amenities. Connected to four office towers and embedded within a high-traffic network, the project repositions shared space as active, social, and integral to the workday.

Early studies tested a range of possibilities, from conference to retail, before the direction aligned around a sport-driven program through collaboration with a sports consultant. A golf simulator was the initial anchor, with the concept expanding alongside Calgary’s growing desire for accessible indoor activity and social sport. The rise of pickleball, in particular, along with the need for spaces that support movement and connection, shaped the outcome.

The multi-sport facility supports pickleball, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and a golf simulator, and is accessible to tenants across the connected buildings. As the first facility of its kind within a commercial office building in Calgary, The Courts establishes a new benchmark for amenity space in the city.

High-contrast colours define the courts, while a neutral floor anchors the space. Linework, colour blocking, and integrated graphics reinforce clarity and movement. Changerooms are seamlessly integrated, supporting spontaneous use.

A previously overlooked area at the back was reimagined as a games lounge, extending the experience beyond play. Low ceilings and exposed systems were embraced, shaping a darker, more tactile palette of black, wood, and leather. Vintage sports objects and a mix of seating, alongside pool, darts, and gaming, introduce a relaxed social energy.

The Courts’ consistent booking indicates an embrace of more dynamic workplaces that also support movement, connection, and activity-based experiences.
