The project intends to provide a system-wide infrastructural transformation to the rail stations and related infrastructure along the Lakeshore West rail corridor, one of the busiest in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The project’s major scope included: the redevelopment of five existing stations to increase capacity and service frequency; accessibility for stations and railroad crossings, including new pedestrian bridges, tunnels, and elevators, while new platforms were designed for future level boarding; new platforms to suit added tracks and rail alignments; electrical infrastructure for quieter and more efficient service.
