GTAA Mobility HUB/409 Lands Master Plan: Unlocking strategic development for a world-class gateway
The master plan was done to examine and test a number of options in the development of a prime parcel of GTAA property at the intersection of Hwy 409 and Airport Road. An existing monorail (Automated People Mover – APM) that connects the two terminal buildings terminates on the site and the desire was to integrate this into an overall plan for the 10.47 hectare site. The inclusion of office, commercial and hotel spaces was examined as a study to highlight the strategic opportunities of the South 409 Land Area as a mechanism to support the goal of the GTAA being North America’s premier portal to the world.
