British Columbia’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure initiated the project to redevelop and revitalize the Belleville International Ferry Terminal in downtown Victoria, which processes ferry services between British Columbia and Washington State. The project’s main objective is to consolidate the dispersed operations of the ferry operators and border control services into a new terminal building on the iconic Victoria waterfront. Kasian provided programming the indicative design including a site plan, exterior building concept, and interior planning for two scopes of work. These included the construction of a consolidated ferry terminal, vehicle compound, and supporting marine infrastructure, as well as modifying the existing site and adjacent heritage building to allow for an interim condition while the site is undergoing redevelopment. The Kasian team then proceeded with the implementation of the interim facility and provided owner’s services during the design build implementation phase of the new Terminal facility.
