The South Bow offices mark a major milestone in the journey to independence for the newly established critical energy infrastructure company, following a separation from its large corporate parent.
Without any pre-existing brand standards, culture, or identity, the workplace design served as a foundation on which South Bow could define itself as an organization.
Spanning four floors of Manulife Tower, the design was delivered through an accelerated process, with programming, planning, and construction all within eight months from award to occupancy. This was achieved through close collaboration with the client team and construction manager Govan Brown.
The space communicates a strong brand presence, grounded in warm wood panelling, dual-tone concrete flooring, and curved glazed walls that soften the aesthetic with its hospitality and mid-century modern influence.
Organized into ‘neighbourhoods’ to support a range of work styles, the tailored space balances a mix of open and enclosed environments from collaborative hubs to dedicated focus areas. A bright, central gathering space anchors the office, offering collaborative settings that form the social and creative core of the workplace.
South Bow won Project of the Year for the 2025 CREW Calgary Awards
