PROJECT PLANNING AND DATA MANAGEMENT

Analyze

Think about all the data points that take us from architectural drawings to construction. In the early stages of design, we have so many things to consider; square footage, ceiling heights, windows, ductwork, load-bearing walls, materials, and more. We also have parameters to stay within, like how many rooms we want, daylight analysis, wind analysis, and other complexities. AI uses computational and generative design takes this information, applies the parameters we need, and creates thousands of design possibilities. An optimal set of designs is then selected from this quantitative approach, and with this our architects and designers apply a more qualitative process to identify the best design for the project.

All the data in our BIM model is extracted in the form of schedules and room data sheets. Generating and producing those reports happens more systematically. In the case of hospitals, for example, we keep track of hundreds or thousands of rooms. Our job is to make sure we are compliant by verifying and validating our designs requirements.

STANDARDS AND PROTOCOLS

Our BIM team has an internally developed BIM knowledge base of standards and protocols. We provide best practices and resources for our staff. As part of the setup process for each project, we build a detailed BIM execution plan.
