A great design makes you feel right when you use the space, and always has opportunities for surprise.

For more than 17 years, I’ve been creating spaces that help people do their jobs and live their lives better, specializing in design for airports and law enforcement. Leading multidisciplinary teams with focus and a sense of humor, I commit myself to each project from start to finish—from drawing and modeling, to project management. My recent notable projects include the Kelowna RCMP Headquarters and the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) Pier D expansion.

My Sectors: Commercial Mixed-Use, Government Administration, Industrial, Military, Public Safety & Justice, Transportation & Utilities.

My Services: Architecture, Facilities Planning, Master Planning & Urban Design.

We Asked, Francois Riverin Answered:

What inspires you?

“The history of the site I’m designing for: what surrounds it, and how it grew and changed to get to the point where we’re working on it. We’re part of an ongoing story, and we respect those who put in hard work before we showed up.”

What does success mean to you?

“When people use what you’ve created in a way that improves their lives. Why strive for mediocrity, or flourishes for their own sake? In the end, we design for real people, and success is when they have a positive reaction to what we’ve built, when they look forward to being there every day.”
