Design thrives on collaborative synergy, where cherished projects unite clients, design, consultant, and construction teams, working together to overcome challenges and drive progress, prioritizing teamwork over perfection.

With over 25 years of experience in multi-family residential, hospitality, retail & workplace sectors, I have worked extensively with major national developers, hotel brands, retailers, and private clients.

My recent projects encompass a broad spectrum of captivating developments in Toronto.

Notably, I was the lead designer for the interior commercial and public spaces for the office towers anchoring The Well, a prominent mixed-use development in downtown Toronto. A particular highlight is the remarkable three-story café nestled in the lobby of the main office tower at Front & Spadina, further activating the lobby and encouraging interaction and connection.

Another project involves a towering 58-storey mixed-use development, featuring a diverse array of elements including, a fitness center, ground-level retail and dining establishments, commercial offices, a hotel, and purpose-built rentals. This project also includes a multi-level rooftop bar and restaurant, complete with a pool and versatile multipurpose rooms.

Further expanding my portfolio, another hospitality project includes the design of a mixed-use hotel and multi-family residential complex north of Toronto, and a well-known Toronto luxury Hotel & Residences where I led the design for the feature penthouses.

My expertise extends beyond these landmark developments, encompassing an extensive history of collaborating with renowned international retailers. I bring a wealth of experience in designing workplaces with both private and public companies.

We asked, Cathy Knott answered:

What do you like most about working at Kasian?

“I enjoy the collegial and collaborative nature of Kasian, which flows through all the offices across the Country. I am very fortunate to have dependable and passionate colleagues in British Colombia, Alberta & Ottawa that I speak to almost as often as the Toronto team. I felt an instant rapport with everyone at all levels. That is a rare and beautiful thing.”

What makes a great design?

“Have you ever experienced a space that has an intangible quality to it? Great design is all about evoking feelings. It effortlessly integrates meticulous details, quality materials, and workmanship. Beyond aesthetics, it’s the emotional impact that matters.

For me, great design thrives in human connection. It’s about creating spaces that foster interactions among people, the city, and nature, irrespective of scale. Ultimately, exceptional design resonates emotionally, harmoniously blends elements, and encourages profound connections.”
