I work to ensure our client’s requirements are heard, understood and translated accordingly to inform planning. With a background in exhibit design, I’ve worked with diverse user groups on telling their stories through interpretative spaces; I’ve applied this skill to collect and understand user group requirements. In the process I’ve become a client engagement expert, facilitating strategic programming and planning assignments across our market sectors.

What have you achieved in your career that you’re particularly proud of?

“I work across multiple market sectors – throughout the years, I’ve worked on various projects and built a unique portfolio, including programming makerspace, science labs, research greenhouses, through to municipal works yards, and community centres. Through my project work I’ve worked with our team to develop a pre-design planning process that helps our clients define their needs to secure funding and move a project forward.”

How would you describe your collaboration style?

“Our clients are enthusiastic to participate in our programming process. Subject matter experts in their own organizations, our clients are delighted to tell us about their day-to-day operations along with the challenges they may have in their existing space. A site walk-through is a critical step to understanding a client’s current-state, workflows and key adjacencies. My approach involves listening and thorough questioning to gain a comprehensive understanding of their organizational dynamics, paired with assisting them to define their ideal future-state often adopting industry best practices or lessons learned from previous projects. Collaboration with a steering committee or key decision-maker is common to evaluate user requests and navigate critical decisions throughout the process.”
