Willow Park Armoury, CFB Halifax: Uniting reserve units with a modern facility

The new Willow Park Armoury consolidates three reserve units at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Halifax under one roof, providing modern facilities to support the units in training, administration and deployment. The LEED Silver certified building is organized over two levels and includes administration and training/classroom spaces, a firing range and associated support spaces, common mess areas, a large drill hall, workshops for storing and maintaining equipment and an outdoor compound for military vehicles.  In addition to the building work, infrastructure critical to the base as a whole was improved through replacing almost 1km of steam line with a new direct-bury piping system, all performed on a fast-track schedule when the steam plant was not in use.
