Kasian was engaged to design a new LEED-certified land border crossing facility at St Stephen, New Brunswick to support the safe and efficient movement of goods and people. The project included a traveller processing building, a commercial building as well as a speciality examination garage and service building.

The 18,000 square foot traveller building processes cars and buses and includes a public lobby, service counter and processing spaces, enforcement areas, general office area and staff facilities. The 17,300 square foot commercial building processes trucks and commercial vehicles and includes four commercial vehicle exam bays, general office area, training areas, and staff facilities. At its time of completion, the St. Stephen Border Crossing facility was the first new border crossing between Atlantic Canada and the US to be constructed in 30 years.
