Kasian was the Prime Consultant for the first two warehouses to be built at the Saddleridge Business Park. Completed in 2019, Building A2 is 150, 000 SF and Building A3 is 93, 000 SF. Each building is a single-storey and includes dock doors as well as grade doors. These buildings were intended to be the catalyst for this master-planned development that is near Calgary International Airport, therefore our design work carefully considered the material and colour palette knowing it would inform future buildings in the development.
Kasian worked very closely with a construction manager and a precast concrete supplier in the design stages to enable our client to track the design against budget expectations. Our work with the precast supplier also provided information on the panel dimensions so that we could introduce variation and relief into the very long street facing facades. Our design approach included a precast concrete form-liner design inspired by our client’s logo to support the branding of future buildings in the park. Sustainable design considerations included provisions that allow these buildings to be able to support solar panel infrastructure in the future.
