Nanaimo Operations Centre

To meet increasing demands from the expanding community, the City of Nanaimo needs to renew the Nanaimo Operations Centre works yard in a phased approach. We worked with the City to right-size spaces and to identify efficiencies and reductions in scope where possible including verifying functions that are critical to be on-site versus functions that could be relocated off-site. With the program optimized, we then developed a fiscally responsible master plan in collaboration with the City. The redevelopment includes strategies to support the City’s targets for net zero carbon emissions and increasing climate resiliency. It also incorporates a new Emergency Operations Centre to improve their ability to respond to emergency events.
