Canadian Forces Station: A modern, all-in-one facility enhancing operational readiness

In partnership with Bird Construction, we designed a new multi-purpose facility at Canadian Forces Station (CFS) St John’s to replace 16 aging buildings for greater efficiency and effectiveness of military operations. The new consolidated facility includes administrative and operational offices, training space including a gymnasium, training kitchen with messes, classrooms, assembly theatres, music rooms, a firing range and tactical armoured patrol vehicle maintenance bays, as well as special medical and dental facilities. The work involved staged demolition of the existing structures, the temporary relocation of personnel to local facilities during construction, and then the building of the new modern facility which is tailored to operations now and anticipates future needs.
