Canada Post required a new processing centre in the Greater Vancouver Area. Kasian, with Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. (BIRD) were selected to design and build the new facility adjacent to the Vancouver International Airport. The facility consists of a mail processing plant of approximately 660,000 SF, of which approximately 110,000 SF are dedicated to support and administration, while the remainder houses mail sorting equipment. The facility includes a two-storey office area on the west side, and an additional second floor area to house mail processing equipment. The plant area height is approximately 40 feet to the underside of the structure. The receiving and shipping areas have a total of 75 loading docks and 32 loading bays.
