Functional food distribution
Expanded space was needed to accommodate Sysco’s growing operations. In a design build effort with Stuart Olson, Kasian (formerly HIP Architects) developed a facility that would not only accommodate food storage and distribution but would also house their regional administration offices.
Quality control was especially important to ensure products were kept at a safe temperature. Based on a North American prototype design, we developed a distinct area for administration areas, frozen food and distribution, and dry food and distribution. The technology of the building was important; complex environmental conditions of all areas were diverse, special attention was needed to ensure each area provided comfortable and safe environments for Sysco staff.
