Improving access and ammenities
A place for all ages and ability
With numerous collegiate and community organizations operating our of spaces with insufficient space with inadequate amenities an improved facility was needed. Not only did the University of Alberta Pandas and Bears intercollegiate basketball and volleyball teams need better training facilitates, enhanced locker rooms and spectator seating to enable them to host regular events and international tournaments, but community organizations needed more space.
Working with Clark Builders design built team we (as HIP Architects, now Kasian) designed a barrier free facility in the heart of southwest Edmonton that supports league play, informal court sports and tournaments for athletes at all levels. The main form of the building is comprised of large courts with seating for 2,400 and links to the existing Saville facility.
