A revitalized gateway that connects care to residents + attracting bright professionals
The Clinical Services Building at the Royal Inland Hospital is the first phase of the redevelopment at this hospital as part of plans to meet the growing and changing needs of patients throughout the Thompson, Cariboo, and Shuswap regions by promoting the best in health care.
Kasian worked with Bird Construction, the Design Builder, and the Interior Health Authority to design this striking 55,500 sq.ft facility, targeting LEED Gold, connected to the existing hospital with an enclosed pedestrian bridge. It includes an expanded and enhanced space for medical outpatient services, such as IV therapy, Pre-Surgical Screening and OR Booking, Cardiopulmonary & Neurodiagnostics; Community Respiratory Therapy, and the vascular improvement program. The facility also includes clinical education program space and the UBC medical school programs, as well as three retail spaces on Columbia Street.
Patients, and their families, as well as the health professionals who provide the care will benefit from the redevelopment. Expanded space, onsite parking and much-improved access to the facility are features of the first phase in the redevelopment of Royal Inland Hospital.
