Mixed-use in the heart of an über-hip community
In what the New York Times describes as one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world, developers wanted to bring the community together with alternative accommodations by providing living and studio / living spaces to Torontonians.
Building onto the historic Drake and Gladstone hotel; the residential design respects the heritage presence while improving pedestrian access. As the project architect Kasian has worked closely with the design architect, TACT Architecture, and the developer to ensure the final design meet Ontario Building Code and City of Toronto regulations while maintaining the original design vision. We have worked with both parties to select the most sustainable materials for the condo units, street-level workshops, outdoor courtyard and underground parkade.
