Seeing stars

A centre to excite imagination and advance knowledge

Emera Centre Planetarium

To promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics education throughout K – 12 through inspiration, the University of Maine was committed to growing their science program offerings with the development of the Emera Astronomy Centre.

Kasian’s experience in delivering similar sophisticated projects supported the Centre’s successful design. In cooperation with local Architect WBRC, concepts were created to enhance stargazing and provide users with an energy efficient planetarium and automated telescope. The facility, including its domed theatre, observatory, learning centre, administrative and classroom facilities are a result of strong collaboration between all team members to create a world class astronomy centre for students and community.
