Revitalization of a historic hospital

Optimizing operations through evidence based design

Belleville General Hospital Emergency Facility

This historic hospital needed upgrades to improve the experience of patients, families and healthcare professionals. Leaning heavily on evidence based design we worked closely with hospital stakeholders to develop a lean design process that would result in standardized clinical room with maximized privacy and optimized operations.

Working with the hospital throughout all 3 phases, Kasian finalized the design to upgrade the hospital’s emergency room, laboratory, Charlotte Sills Wing providing complex care, rehabilitation and ICU programming, and provided new service areas for cardiopulmonary, outpatient oncology, pre-admission and peri-operative care. A renovation of the surgical facilities provided an upgraded pre-surgical clinic, patient registration area, post-operation observation along with 6 new operating rooms with associated facilities.
