Creating a culture of collaboration

Bringing together operations for a high performance workplace

Administration Offices at Vancouver International Airport

To optimize operations and strengthen corporate culture the Vancouver Airport Authority wanted to consolidate their offices. For the first time management and administrative functions would be located in one area; opportunities of collaboration and improvements in productivity were essential in designing this high performance workplace.

Achieving client goals was at the heart of our design. Kasian designed a space that maximized daylight and reinforced the land, sea and sky culture that resonates throughout the airport and through British Columbia. A three prong design was develop to provide users with a public conference zone, a semi-public communal zone and a dedicated work zone. The staff lounge was an important design component and was strategically placed between an atrium and light well to create a bright welcoming space.
