Vancouver International Airport's domestic terminal, originally built in the 1960s, required extensive interior and exterior renovations to increase gate and ticketing capacity and improve passenger flow.

The new design completed a series of additions and design upgrades to all three levels of the domestic terminal, enhancing capacity and flow in the arrivals level, departure concourse, retail street, and two of the main departure/arrival piers. The departure terminal design, which has won nationally-recognized awards, draws on the YVR thematic master plan of 'land, sea, and sky.'
