This public museum in downtown Calgary is designed to educate people about science and its applications in an entertaining yet educational way.
A master plan for the facility was created in 1990, with additional elements added through the intervening years. These include: the Discovery Dome, a 20-meter, 214-seat tilted dome theatre which set an early benchmark in the world of immersive; the Discovery Hall, a 5,000 sq. ft. exhibition hall that focuses on the wonders of science; and the Wonder Room, a large, open exhibition hall hosting temporary and traveling exhibitions.
