Located in the Sungang District of Shenzhen, a vibrant and prosperous economic centre, the site provides an interwoven lifestyle aspect of a major commercial office tower with a combined urban residential tower.

This concept draws its influence from the ideology of Shenzhen’s rich history as a fishing village which represents the initial stage of establishing a consumer trade process that has long been the tradition of China’s economic society.

The core concept envisions a central 'hull' - the main void space floating amidst a sea of market spaces connected by a series of interconnected spaces, stairs and bridges. Both the experience of the underside structure of the glass elliptical roof and the shape of the void space beneath evokes metaphorical references to the hull of a vessel. The void space within the cube volume continues as an architectural linkage to the office skyscraper and residential twin towers in a more prominent form extending beyond the cube forms gesturing to the sky and the street.
