UNBC Health Sciences Centre receives Wood Design Award

Kasian was recently awarded a Wood Design Award in the commercial/institutional category for the University of Northern British Columbia Health Sciences Centre. This award recognizes the benefits of wood in institutional applications in schools, churches, hospitals, long-term care facilities, libraries, and municipal buildings that have demonstrated the use of wood. An initiative of the Canadian Wood Council, these annual awards recognize the individuals, architects, engineers, builders and owners who are using wood in innovative ways. “This event is unique in the fact that it brings the wood products manufacturers and the end users together for a common cause – to celebrate wood,” said BC WoodWORKS! Director Mary Tracy. Honours are awarded in several building categories including commercial/institutional, recreational, high performance, multi-unit residential and residential. All building nominated have been commissioned in the past three years. Selections are made by an independent panel of judges will make the selections.
