ONE Water Street is designed with all the amenities for modern high density living. It has been carefully detailed to be fully responsive to views, climate and the urban context. As part of the preliminary design, wind tunnel model testing is completed to determine wind effects on tall buildings. The wind study modelling was completed by Alan G. Davenport Wind Engineering Group (AGDW), in particular, The Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory (BLWTL) at Western University. BLWTL have provided specialist consultancy services to study how the local geography affects the wind to ensure the integrity of the tall slender forms. This is done to analyze the design of the structure and assure human comfort and safety in outdoor areas. The design places a priority on creating opportunities for a lively and engaging public realm so that the development supports the downtown area’s goal of continuing to grow as a destination to live, work, shop, learn and play.
