Kasian’s BIM Manager Discusses BIM Implementation for the Stanton Territorial Hospital project

For Immediate Release

The Canada BIM Council (CanBIM) recently sat down with our BIM Manager, Amir Tangestani, to give some insight behind Building Information Modelling (BIM) implementation for project delivery at the current Stanton Territorial Hospital (Stanton) project. In addition to discussing some of the major challenges that were overcome using BIM on the project, Amir also highlighted some of the ways BIM has optimized Kasian’s processes and project delivery for over 10 years.

Kasian is at the forefront of utilizing BIM in conjunction with its team of consultants and stakeholders to create an integrated workflow built on coordinated, reliable information throughout the lifecycle of this project. Stanton, located in Yellowknife, NWT, is a $350 million P3 project that will involve a new hospital built in the location of the current hospital — the square footage is expected to almost double in size to 280,000 square feet. The new facility will feature both outpatient and inpatient services.

In addition to this interview, Amir was also invited to speak at the Vancouver 2017 CanBIM Conference. More information can be accessed via
