Kasian wins at the 2017 Mayor’s Urban Design Awards

For Immediate Release

Last night, our team attended the 2017 Mayor’s Urban Design Awards hosted by the City of Calgary. Every two years, the City acknowledges the important contributions of designers, architects and artists who help improve the quality of life in Calgary through art and design.

The City’s Chief Urban Designer, David Down regards the Urban Design Awards as an important avenue in recognizing the people behind Calgary’s vibrant buildings and spaces. “Well-designed spaces make people feel welcome, improves safety and accessibility and creates a memorable sense of place.”

Eighty-nine submissions were judged in twelve categories, which showcased Calgary’s innovative buildings and public spaces. Allied Works Architecture and Kasian Architecture received the Favourite Building Award under the People’s Choice category for the National Music Centre/Studio Bell. We also received an honourable mention for the The Backyard Laneway Activation Project under the Community Improvement Projects category.

Congratulations to our Calgary team members for all their hard work, dedication and contributions!
