Kasian Welcomes Ian Sinclair

For Immediate Release

Kasian is pleased to announce that Ian Sinclair, MHA, CHE, will join Kasian as Principal and Healthcare Leader based in our Toronto office effective January 4, 2016. In this role he will bring valuable leadership to Kasian’s Healthcare Market Sector across the world, with a particular focus on Toronto and Ontario.

Drawing on over 25 years of hospital operational, strategic and capital planning experience, Ian brings a unique owner’s perspective to his new role. He integrates hospital-operating best practices with facility design to ensure that clients do not simply put yesterday’s organization into today’s buildings.

“I’m very excited to get on board to collaborate with the team at Kasian to help our healthcare clients express their organizational vision through intuitive, efficient, inspiring, human-centred design,” he says.

Ian’s passion for ensuring that patient-centred care aligns with patient-centred design has won him international recognition. He is a frequent conference speaker. Previously, he was Partner at Farrow Partnership Architects in Toronto. He holds a Master’s in Health Administration from the University of Ottawa and an Honours BA from the University of Western Ontario.

His master-planning methodology has guided clients here and abroad. As VP Planning and Facilities at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare in Toronto, he led the $400-million capital redevelopment of one of Canada’s most complex site master plans. He also led the campus redevelopment of the Peel Regional Cancer and Ambulatory Care Centre at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. Other clients include St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver; the Kelowna, Kamloops and Williams Lake Hospitals; the Mission Hospital Complex Continuing Care facility; and St. Mary’s Hospital in Sechelt, all in British Columbia; the Integrated Health Centre in Kipling, Saskatchewan; the recently opened Colchester East Hants Acute Care Hospital in Truro, Nova Scotia; the four teaching hospitals in St. John’s Newfoundland; the National Oncology Centre in Trinidad and Tobago; and the Kaplan Medical Centre in Rehovot, Israel.

Since its founding in 1983, Kasian has grown to become one of the world’s top 100 integrated design firms. With nearly 300 team members in offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, and Doha, we engage with clients locally and abroad in all market sectors. Our services include architecture, interior design, and planning, with specialization in the following sectors: Academic, Science and Technology; Civic; Commercial; Health Care; Transportation and Corporate Workplace.
