Toronto, ON – April 9th, 2013 – Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning Ltd is pleased to announce that Toronto Principal and award-winning interior designer Janine Grossmann has been elected to serve as President of the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO).
ARIDO is the only governing professional organization for interior designers in the province and is the largest provincial, member organization of Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) – the national advocacy association. ARIDO has a total membership of over 3,300 in Registered, Intern, Educator and Student categories.
“As I look forward to the coming year, a prime focus for me personally will be the continued movement to a stronger regulatory body,” says Grossmann. “Greater corporate governance in the administration and management of our association will ensure a stronger position and greater leadership when the day finally arrives and we obtain practice act.”
A dynamic and well-respected leader, Janine possesses more than 18 years of experience in the design and management of commercial, institutional, hospitality and corporate interiors projects. During her time at Kasian, Janine has led a number of prestigious projects including the national TELUS Interior Design account and The Greater Toronto Airport Authority. Janine’s commitment to interior design excellence has been recognized on a national scale; she is the recipient of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada’s Urban Design Award and three ARIDO awards for excellence, innovation and originality in interior design.
“Janine will be an enormous asset to ARIDO and its membership,” notes Don Kasian, president of the global architecture and interior design firm. “Janine’s strengths lie in understanding the business drivers of clients, working with leadership teams to create corporate strategies, championing mentoring opportunities and connecting people – all of which will benefit the Association. We look forward to seeing ARIDO flourish under Janine’s leadership in the coming year.”
In addition to ARIDO, Janine is also a member of the Interior Designers of Canada (IDC), Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP) and Corenet.
