Edmonton Festival of Trees in Support of the University Hospital Foundation

For Immediate Release

Our Edmonton team is participating in this year’s Festival of Trees, in support of the University Hospital Foundation at the Shaw Conference Centre. From traditional to designer, to exotic and whimsical, the Festival of Trees showcases more than 200 innovative trees and Christmas displays. The displays are arranged by theme or colour into pods that allow for easy viewing as people stroll through the Christmas wonderland. Sparkling lights, elegant decorations, avant-garde designs… all there for the public to enjoy! The theme for this years festival is “Baby, it’s cold outside”, which led the Kasian team towards the name “S’vere Winter” as a play on the cold weather outside. The design team consists of Alexis Mitchell and Andrea Sapiano who came up with the unique design and volunteered their time for the build. The tree design is made of multi-coloured and multi-sized ornamental spheres using the inspiration colours white, gold, and silver. The design hopes to capture the glittering warm lights inside the home, and cool sparkle of fresh falling snow and ice outside.

As reigning champions from the 2016 Tree Design, the Edmonton team is delighted to be joining in on the festivities again and will proudly participate in support of the University Hospital Foundation. These trees are created to be displayed and sold to the highest bidder at the Gala, raising funds for the University Hospital Foundation. This year the foundation hopes to raise $1 million to upgrade their Emergency Room and improve their facility to better serve the community. Come vote for the Best Creation, Peoples’ Choice, and other categories, and experience the dazzling displays! The trees and decor will be displayed first at the Gala night, then for the public from November 30th to December 3rd. Be sure to check it out if you’re attending.
