Kasian announces the appointment of 11 global design leaders

Vancouver, Canada – Kasian, a global design firm, recently announced the appointment of three Senior Associates and eight Associates firm wide. These leaders are recognized as valued contributors to the success of Kasian through their commitment to client engagement, team development, and global growth.

Each new Associate and Senior Associate is committed to creating inspiring solutions for our clients,” said Don Kasian, President of Kasian. “Their advancement is an opportunity to maintain and strengthen our corporate culture as we forge ahead into the global marketplace.”

VANCOUVER

KEN MAH, SENIOR ASSOCIATE
MAIBC, BA, BArch (Hon), LEED®AP
Capable of managing large, complex projects for institutional and commercial clients, Ken has over 15 years of experience in all aspects of project delivery. A LEED® accredited architect with experience in design-build projects, Ken’s broad expertise encompasses a wide variety of building types.  

SARAH NELLES, SENIOR ASSOCIATE
BSc, BADID, RID
Sarah has 25 years of design and project management experience in the corporate and institutional sectors and is sought after for her knowledge of programming and strategic planning. With strong communications and interpersonal skills, Sarah provides vision and leadership to both clients and staff.

JOANNE STICH, SENIOR ASSOCIATE 
BES, MArch, MAIBC, LEED® AP
Joanne is a LEED® accredited senior architect with over 20 years of experience in urban development and planning, public and recreation, and transportation projects. Since joining Kasian in 1997, Joanne has been an integral leader in the Vancouver office through her dedication to mentoring, collaboration and project management.

DEBORAH DAY, ASSOCIATE
BID, RID
With over 24 years of experience in the hospitality, retail, corporate and transportation sectors throughout North America, Deborah has successfully designed, coordinated and overseen multiple large-scale interior design projects. Deborah has won numerous industry awards and is relied upon for her keen attention to detail and team leadership.

KRISTALINA DINOVSKY-KUTEV, ASSOCIATE
MUBA, MArch
As a project manager with over 20 years of experience, Kristalina is known for her ability to successfully coordinate and deliver large-scale projects. Kristalina is an expert in translating design concepts to constructible building systems and is able to manage multi-disciplined teams.

JUDITH HORVATH, ASSOCIATE
RID
With extensive experience in all aspects of design project management, Judith approaches all projects with her personal consulting style. Judith has 18 years of experience, mostly in commercial and corporate interior design, with expertise in integrated projects including the UBC Okanagan Arts and Sciences building.

TERRY SMITH, ASSOCIATE
ND Architecture, LEED® AP
Terry joined Kasian in 2000 and has steadily built a foundation of strong client relationships, thanks to 14 years of broad-based experience. Specializing in health care, Terry has focused on both large and small-scale projects including the Royal Columbian Hospital ER/Ambulatory Care Expansion.

DOUGLAS STEELE, ASSOCIATE
MAIBC, BA, MArch, MRAIC, LEED® AP
With over 18 years of experience, Doug’s projects range from high-rise residential towers and signature buildings, to traditional commercial retail developments. Doug is an established leader known for his expertise in design development, construction documentation, contract administration and project management.

ANDREW THOMSON, ASSOCIATE
BA(Hons), PG DipArch, ARB, RIBA, LEED® AP
With more than 10 years of architectural experience as a UK registered architect and project manager, Andrew has dedicated much of his knowledge and expertise to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) projects. He was instrumental in developing digital contract and shop drawings for the expansion terminal structure and envelope.

Jason has 18 years of architectural project management experience on a wide variety of projects across Canada and the United States. Through his urban development expertise and project management experience, Jason is sought after by clients for his commitment to delivering design excellence.

TORONTO

RALPH DOPPING, ASSOCIATE
DID, ARIDO Intern, BCIN 25639
Ralph has been recognized through numerous design awards during his 20 years of interior design and project management experience. Through his practical and focused approach, Ralph has been concentrating on large, complex corporate and retail interior design projects, including Kasian’s national contracts for TELUS and CIBC.
